A NOTE FROM JASON GOULD:

WELCOME TO "BOSTON SELF DEFENSE."

This is a free networking site to encourage dialogue and sharing of resources in everything related to "personal safety and self-defense" in the Greater Boston Area including, but not limited to assault prevention, anti-bullying, women's self-defense, children's safety, assertive communication training, martial arts, conflict resolution -- the list goes on and on.

This is a site under development, and I welcome your participation and your suggestions. I am here to HELP everyone who needs access to self defense information and resources, and to CONNECT the people who are involved in self-defense training to one another.

Ultimately, I intend to re-define what we mean when we say the words "Self Defense" in Boston!

Effective immediately, I will be taking the content from my long-standing self-defense resources blog and moving it HERE, while also adding to it and expanding it. And I'll be inviting the community to join me!

Feel free to explore the site content and features, REGISTER and create your own profile, contribute to a DISCUSSION TOPIC, start a blog, connect with colleagues, CHAT on self-defense related topics, INVITE OTHERS to join, view a VIDEO, and more. For more information on how to Post Material on the network, see the GUIDE to POSTING.

The U.S. Department of Education reports that 25-percent of American students say they were bullied at least once a day. States have tried to address the issue by mandating their school districts adopt anti-bullying initiatives. …

Thoughts on Spreading Anti-Bullying Information

What happened to Phoebe Prince was an absolute tragedy. I find myself getting more and more angry as more information about the case comes to light, such as what I read today in this article.
